    1. Clean your mattress every six months by simply flipping it over. This tactic really works knowing that when you flip your mattress, you are providing it an even wear. Flip it in a way that that the top of the mattress will be placed on the bottom and that the foot of it is now at the head. Note, however, that this can be done depending on how large or small your mattress is. Is it is huge and heavy enough, perhaps you'll need a partner to assist you in doing this job.

    2. Cover the mattress if possible. Obviously, covering a mattress will help protect your mattress. That also means you are extending time between the cleanings. So it is the rule of the thumb to purchase a mattress cover if you want to protect the surface of your favorite possession. However, when selecting a cover, look for the ones that are washable. Also, look for those that are designed to reduce the dust mite allergies and will give you the chance to vacuum your mattress in the least possible time.

    3. How to clean a mattress just takes knowledge on the proper way of removing the dust on the mattress surface. This is important knowing that every time, dust and dust mites tend to build up in your mattress. So if possible, try to vacuum it with the use of the upholstery attachment on your vacuum cleaner. If you found out that someone does have allergies in your home, the greater your need of vacuuming your mattress is. So if that's the case, vacuum it frequently.

    4. Use an upholster shampoo if the surface of your beloved mattress gets dirty or soiled. How to clean a mattress with a shampoo? Simple! Just follow what is directed on the shampoo bottle or sachet. You can also use a mild detergent with water and wait until the suds form. Once formed, apply to the soiled area using a sponge and let it dry.

Note: Do not allow the inner padding of the mattress to get wet.
